An access request to answer within one month, dozens of pages where you must keep the requester and redact everyone else.
What changes
Third parties redacted everywhere
A name entered once is redacted throughout the document, even when split at the end of a line. Email addresses and phone numbers are suggested straight away.
Nothing goes to a provider
Personnel files stay on your computer. There is no data processing agreement to sign in order to redact.
A clean file
No forgotten comment, no earlier version, no author in the properties: the file produced is rebuilt and checked.
The framework
The right of access (Article 15 of the GDPR) must not adversely affect the rights and freedoms of others (Article 15(4)): this is what requires redacting colleagues, witnesses and third parties named in the documents disclosed.
What it does not do
- Find every name for certain: the model suggests, reread; “Redact everywhere” catches a missed third party.
- Process several documents at once: one at a time for now.
